8 The dolmen of Les Pierres Plates, Locmariaquer peninsula, Morbihan, France

This is one of the relatively rare angled dolmens. It was dated around 3000 BC.

This old postcard shows that the menhir in front is probably a fallen capstone

Seen from above: the reason why the dolmen is called The Flat Stones.

The carvings inside. Many authors have tried to interpret these carvings, without convincing results so far.

  1. I was searching the net for the black venus and came acorss your pages. i was looking through them - and i see the carvings and diagrams of the carvings. To me it looks like they are maps. the U being entrances - the O might be water wells or air vents but some of them would be tricks , and some passageways will go nowhere to protect the occupants. I was searching the black venus to see what she look like but have not found her yet, i was reading some articles on hollow earth and under the black venus is supposed to be underground cave/ tunnel systems which connect to other tunnel systems from all over the world.. quiet intersting which supposed to lead to the hollow earth.. very cool indeed. i wanted to see the black venus to see if she is reptilian or human form.. some pic you have up there also of in some crypt - with madonna and child - it seems to me that there are 3 figures behind her . she is not original.. but behind you can see shapes of her and possible some giant figure.. thats what my mind see's .. thanks for the nice photos..
